Obituary

Republic, MI- Mary A. (Kulie) Kellow, age 66, former Republic resident, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019, at Marquette County Medical Care Facility while in the loving care of her family, staff at MCMCF and Lake Superior Hospice.

Mary was born in Ishpeming, on February 19, 1953, a daughter of the late Clayton and Joyce (Kintgen) Kulie.  She graduated from Champion High School, class of 1971.

Mary worked for C.C.I as a Pit Operator at the Empire Mine.  She was a member of the Steel Workers Union, Local 4950.

Mary enjoyed sewing, and crafts, and was a Precious Moments collector.  After her retirement from CCI she was a volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul in Republic. Mary got most of her enjoyment from her family, especially watching her grandchildren in their activities.  She loved everyone and didn't have a mean bone in her body.  She would do anything for anyone and had an infectious smile.  Her 2 dogs, Sadie and Maggie, will surely miss her.

Mary is survived by a daughter, Sarah (William) Wheeler, of Republic,

a son, Kevin (Jenny) Skytta, of Shoreline, WA, 4 grandchildren;  Deante Felder, Daisy Wheeler, John Wheeler, Hayden Skytta, 1 great grandson: Drayven Felder, 2 brothers: Ron (Darlene) Kulie of Republic, Mickey (Rose) Kulie of Marquette, a sister Denise (Raymond) Hill of Clarksburg, along with several nieces and nephews.  Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Scott Kulie, a sister Debbie Kulie and a niece Anne Marie Hill.

Mary's family will greet relatives and friends from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming where a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm with Rev. D. Michael Carriere to officiate.

Inurnment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.
