Bloomington, IN - Mary Kathrine (Nault) Jalkanen, age 73, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away peacefully on June 30, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her birth parents Clarence Rothwell and Mary Ann Rodgers, adoptive parents Arthur and Jenny Nault, stepmother Elaine Rothwell, and godson Thomas Parkkonen.

She is survived by her husband, 52 years, David Jalkanen, sister Margaret (Steven) Parkkonen, stepsister Tammy (Mike) Brininstool, children Michelle Marie (Ray) Reno, Scott Jalkanen, John (Emily) Jalkanen, grandchildren Lauren Reno, Patrick (Andraya) Brewster, Emma Jalkanen, Dominic Jalkanen, Nora Jalkanen, great-grandson Jakoby Brewster, godchildren Gail Parkkonen, Brian (Becky) Parkkonen, and many beloved extended family members and friends.

Rev. Bruce J. Thorsen of Bethany Lutheran Church will celebrate Mary's life with a graveside committal service at Ishpeming Cemetery in Ishpeming, Michigan on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 2pm.  Mary's family welcomes friends to join them at the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cross of Christ paper pantry ministry at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 1450 E Mitchell St, Petoskey Michigan.
