Marquette - "Betty" Mary E. Hill, age 72 of Marquette, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018, peacefully in her home.

Betty was born July 2, 1945 in Morristown, NJ to Leslie and Marie (Monahan) Newlan. She graduated from Simi Valley High School in Simi Valley, California and moved to Marquette in 1968. Mary enjoyed hearing stories of her grandchildren's activities, reading, crafts, cooking, loved the game of baseball and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.

Betty is survived by her husband Peter J. Hill, whom she married on December 18, 1976, a daughter Marcia (Bill) Parkkonen of Marquette and their children Ian and Maija Parkkonen, a brother Leslie Jr. (Carol) Newlan of Dallas, TX, a granddaughter Marilyn Dobrzenski, and in-laws, Steven and Wendy Hill and their children.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
