Obituary

Ishpeming - Mary Louise Clancey, age 93, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at the Marquette Medical Care facility where she had resided since April of 2005.

Mary was born the daughter of the late Thomas and Louise (Persons) Clancey on November 11, 1914 in Ishpeming. She attended the Academy of Our Lady, Longwood (an all girls Catholic School in Chicago) and received her Bachelors Degree from University of Michigan. Mary worked as a legal secretary for many years at the Davidson, Clancey and Hansen Law Firm. She served our country faithfully during WWII in the United States Navy. Mary was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming and of the Daughter's of the American Revolution. She was a Civil War buff and a member of Friends of the Library, Bell Hospital Auxillary and was an avid Michigan Wolverines, Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan.

Survivors included nephews: Tom Clancey of Tampa, FL, Jay (Mary Windsand) Clancey of Negaunee, Sean Clancey of Houghton, and Patrick (Diane) Clancey of Green Bay, WI, and a great niece Brooke (Joe) Routhier of Ishpeming. Mary is preceded in death by a sister Sara Clancey and a brother James Clancey.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family wishes memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or to the Marquette County Humane Society in Mary's honor.
