Nixa, MO – Mary E. (Anderson) Christiansen, age 50, former Humboldt Twp. resident, currently of 1259 W. Butterfield Dr., Nixa, MO passed away on Sunday October 10, 2010 at her home while under the loving care of her family and the Oxford Hospice.


Mary was born February 29, 1960 in Ishpeming, MI the daughter of Clayton and the late Martha (Basham) Anderson. She was a graduate of the Westwood High School, Class of 1978 and attended Northern Michigan University. Mary enjoyed doing volunteer work for several different agencies, most notably Least of These and Lutheran World Relief, along with being active in her local P.T.A. Mary was a former member of the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Champion and a current member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield, MO. Her hobbies included sewing, painting and cooking.


Survivors include a daughter Melanie Christiansen of Nixa, MO, her husband Greg Christiansen of Nixa, MO and his family, her father Clayton Anderson of Ishpeming, sisters and brothers – Judith (Joseph) Helwig of Nashville, TN, Clayton John (Sunny) Anderson Jr. of Champion, Paul (Towanda) Anderson of Fort Myers, FL, Barbara (James) Revello of Ishpeming, and Karen (Dennis) Howe of Champion, along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many devoted friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Martha Anderson and a nephew Carl Anderson.


The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00am until 12:0noon on Thursday Oct. 14, 2010 at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Champion, where funeral service will be held at 12:00noon with Rev. Carole Neitzel to officiate. Interment will take place at the Humboldt Twp. Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Christopher and Mark Anderson, Paul and Peter Revello, David Helwig and Craig Howe.
