Ishpeming, MI- Martin D.  "Gabby" Tasson, age 93, lifelong Ishpeming resident passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Newberry Assisted Living Community in Newberry, Michigan.

Martin was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on June 21, 1929, a son of the late Michael and Teresa (Artusa) Tasson. He was a graduate of Ishpeming High School, following graduation he enter the US. Army.  He served two years in the Army from January 1951 with an honorable discharge in December 1952.

Martin worked for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company for 43 years, working in blasting and retired as a drilling foreman. Gabby worked along side Dave Holli at Holli Forest Products for many years and cherished their friendship.

Martin was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting and spending time at hunting camp. He as an avid supported to the Ishpeming Ski Club and its annual ski tournament.

Martin is survived by two children; Gregory and Bridget both of Marquette, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sue, 6 sisters and 5 brothers.

Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

A private service will be held at a later date.
