Gwinn - Martin A. "Marty" Hintz, age 57, of 103 Lancer St.in Forsyth Twp. was pronounced dead on Sunday evening, May 26, 2019 of natural causes at his home
Marty was born in Milwaukee, WI on February 6, 1962, son of the late Ruth W. (Hanninen) and James R. Hintz. He was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School Class of 1980. He was a member of the 1979 Ishpeming High School State Championship Football Team, Marty also enjoyed bowling, baseball and softball having played with the Hickey's Bar team for several years. Marty also loved his pets including his cats and dogs. Marty attended the La Cordon Bleu Culinary Program at Brown College from Nov 2001 - Feb 2003 and had a lifelong ambition of owning and operating a restaurant.
Marty worked mainly in the mining industry locally for the Callahan Mining Co. from 1985-1991 and others in Nevada and Montana mainly as a production truck driver. Marty returned to this area in 2014.
Survivors include two sisters - M. Susan (John) Rader of Ishpeming and Ruth L. Hintz of Marquette; sister-in-law Joan Groom of Billings, MT; 2 nephews - John & Dan; niece Jasmine, along with numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother James R. Hintz, Oct 7, 2013.
Per Marty's wishes cremation will take place with no public services.
