Ishpeming- Martha I. Saari, age 76 of 206 W. Euclid St. Ishpeming, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Mather Nursing Center where she resided since December 2003.

Martha was born December 15, 1930 in Ishpeming to Valentine & Lempi (Vainionpaa) Roine. She graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1948 and was a life long area resident. Martha worked as a secretary for Cleveland Cliffs Mining Company and also as a bank teller at both the Miner's Bank and Peninsula Bank. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church. Martha enjoyed time spent with family, especially her grandson.

Martha is survived by her husband, whom she married on August 21, 1954, Robert C. Saari, a son Robert K. Saari, a daughter Debbie L. Dean both of Chicago and a grandson Anthony R. Dean., a sister Shirley Tyni of Ishpeming, along with nieces & nephews. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, a son in law Bill Dean, 2 brothers: Reino & Ralph Roine and 3 sisters: Irma Madson, Sigrid Murray and an infant sister Impi.

Funeral services will be held 1:00p.m. Monday, October 22, 2007 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpemnig with Rev Lauri O Maki officiating. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Friends & relatives may call the Bethel Lutheran Church on Monday from 11:00a.m. until the time of service at 1:00p.m.
