Ishpeming- Martha Koski, age 93, formerly of 1800 Glendora Ln., Ishpeming, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming.

Martha was born May 25, 1914 to the late Sam and Katherine (Piirkola) Maki in Mass City, Michigan. She has been a life long area resident of Ishpeming, and has spent her years here as a homemaker. Martha resided at Mather Nursing Center for the past year and a half. She enjoyed embroidering, cooking, baking and playing with her grandkids.

Martha is survived by 3 sons: Gerald (Peggy) Koski of Ishpeming, Brian (Lorraine) Koski of Marquette, Kevin (Billie) Koski of Golden, MS, a daughter: Martha (Francis) Bertucci of Ishpeming, a step-son: Ronald (Donna) Koski of Pearson, WI, a step-daughter: Gloria Haapala or Marquette, 2 brothers: Oliver Maki of L'Anse, and Francis Maki of Ontonagon. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Preceding Martha in death is her husband Emil Koski and a son Earl Koski, 3 sisters, 7 brothers, 3 step-sons, and 2 step-daughters.

According to Martha's wishes, cremation services have been accorded. Graveside services are planned for spring of 2008 with Rev. Timothy Ott officiating at Northland Chapel Garden.
