Ely Twp. - Marlene J. Johnson, age 74, of 665 Co Rd CKH in Diorite Location, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020 at her home.

Marlene was born in Ely Twp. on September 7, 1946, a daughter of the late Ina (Niemi) and Walter Hill.  She grew up in the Diorite area and was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School. Marlene worked as a secretary for the Nice School District, working at the Diorite, North Lake, National Mine and Aspen Ridge Schools. She was a member of Hope Free Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Marlene loved to cook family dinners, was an avid reader, and enjoyed bowling in her younger years.

Survivors include her husband of the past 55 years, Robert J. Johnson Sr. of Ely Twp., sons - Robert J. (Carisa) Johnson Jr., of Iron Mountain; Ron "Tuner" (Denise) Johnson of Ishpeming; brother Ray Hill of Champion; along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Marlene was preceded in death by a brother Alivian Hill.

Private Family Services will be held at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Ryerson officiating. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
