Republic- Mark H. Wooden, age 66 Republic resident and former Pierson, Michigan resident passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Marquette General Hospital.
Mark was born July 30, 1946 in Grand Rapids, MI to Harold & Carol (Conran) Wooden. He graduated from Rockford High School. Mark served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Mark worked as an electronics technician for Steelcase for 25 years retiring in 2010.
Mark was a wonderful family man who enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren. He enjoyed living his dream by building his log home on the Michigamme River. He loved to fish, hunt and spend time in the outdoor.
Mark is survived by his wife Linda (Barrington) Wooden, four children: Teresa (John) Barrington-Chase of Dearborn, MI, Christopher (Amy) Wooden of Howard City, MI, Theodore Wooden of Westphalia, MI and Shaun (Sarah) Wooden of Grand Rapids, MI, 12 grandchildren: Taylor, Jacob, Greyson, Echo, Marley, Madeline, Brendan, Aja, Gill, Violet, Willow and Ella, a brother Richard (Bunny) Wooden of Sparta, MI along with nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Kay Thebo.
A memorial service will be held 4:00pm on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the Republic United Methodist Church, Republic, MI.
The family will greet friends and the Republic United Methodist Church on Sunday from 3:00pm until the time of service at 4:00pm.
Military Honors will be conduct by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 380.
