Ishpeming – Mark LeClair, age 62, of 4461 US Highway 41 West, #25, passed away at 10:30am on Monday November 14, 2011 at his home while in the loving care of his family, and the Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice, following a lengthy illness.
Mark was born May 1, 1949 in Ishpeming the son of the late Ralph LeClair and Marjorie (Sleeman). He was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School and had attended Northern Michigan University at the Skills Center. Mark had worked at the Ishpeming Salvation Army for several years. Mark enjoyed shooting pool & playing cribbage along with deer hunting.
Survivors include his wife, whom he married on June 13, 1986, LaVerne (Holmgren) LeClair of Ishpeming, a daughter Barbie LeClair of Ishpeming, step-children – John (Lynn) Nardi of Negaunee, Christine (Stuart) Ring, Robert (Robyn) Nardi, Cindy (Paul) Heino and Michael (Diane) Nardi all of Ishpeming, and Louie (Chris) Nardi of Marquette, brothers and sisters – Steven (Joan) LeClair, Gregory (Sandy) LeClair, Mary Ellen (Casey) Smith and Tom Laitinen all of Ishpeming and Carol (Byron) Lethum of Tenn., step-brothers – Dwayne Potila, Douglas (Pat) Potila and Dennis (Lynn) Potila all of Ishpeming, along with special friends Mick and Sue Ketola and Sue Koivela. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Scott LeClair, a brother Gary LeClair and step-brother Dale Potila.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held at the Ishpeming Salvation Army on Monday November 21, 2011 from 4 – 6 pm.
