Ishpeming- Mark D. Heikkinen, age 47, of 804 E. North St, #12 in Ishpeming, passed away unexpectedly July 27, 2007 at his home. Mark was born November 25, 1959 to the late Anslem and Anna (Koski) Heikkinen of Ishpeming.

Mark was a 1977 graduate of Westwood High School. After spending two years working in a shoe store in Chicago. Mark returned to the area where he spent the rest of his life. Mark will be remembered with great love and affection by his sisters and brothers. They will cherish the memories of their bright eyed, affectionate little brother who became a kind, intelligent, thoughtful young man who loved children, dogs, the outdoors and poetry. Mark's strong faith in his Lord and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, will continue to give Christians who love Mark peace and joyful assurance of one day being reunited with him in Christ through eternity.

Mark is survived by his daughter Jessica Junak, four sisters: Julie (Donn) Wolf of Marquette, Kathy (David) Ackland of Ishpeming, Sharon (William) Fountain of Gwinn, and Chris (Pratap) Gupta of Marquette, three brothers: James (Beverly) Heikkinen of Lake Linden, Walter (Avis) Lampi, and Ronald (Betty) Heikkinen of Republic along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Heikkinen.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 12:00p.m. at the Apostolic Lutheran Congregation on US Hwy 41 W in Ishpeming Twp. with Roger Kangas officiating. Pallbearers will be Jesica Wolf, Eric Wolf, Jacob Wolf, Aaron Heikkinen, Jacob Heikkinen, and Reed Tackman.

The family of Mark Heikkinen will greet friends and relatives from 11:00a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday at the church. "But if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him." Romans 6:8
