Marquette, MI – Mark J. Chudy, age 54, longtime Marquette area resident passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming Twp. where he had been a resident for the past day. He had been battling cancer for the past several years.

Mark was born on September 6, 1961 in Ashland, WI the son of Betty Ann (Wiggins) and the late Clarence Leroy Chudy. Mark spent most of his childhood in Marquette and was a graduate of the Marquette Senior High School, Class of 1980. Locally, Mark had been a self-employed carpenter for many years. He also spent some time working in the Oil fields in Texas. Most recently Mark lived in Nokomis, FL where he was receiving his cancer treatment.

Mark was an avid outdoorsman enjoying camping, fishing and hunting. He was one who lived life to the fullest, making every day an adventure. He will be remembered as a very charismatic individual who had no worries concerning his day to day activities.

Survivors include his life companion Linda Bice of Marquette, mother Betty Chudy of Marquette, step-children – Robert Truax of Negaunee and Michelle (Eric) Yuhas of Ishpeming, 2 sisters – Terry (Rick) Tryan of Marquette and Dawn Chudy of Harvey, 2 brothers – Frank (Jan) Chudy of Marquette and Todd Chudy (Lisa Howard) of Spring Lake, 2 grandchildren – Kyla and Roman Yuhas along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a great niece.

A private celebration of Mark's life will be celebrated by family and friends at a later date.
