Sanchez-Palmer
September 4, 1935 – October 26, 2020
Ishpeming- Marjorie M. Sanchez-Palmer "Marge", age 85, received her
wings and went to walk with the angels on Monday, October 26, 2020, at
the Marquette County Medical Care Facility while in the loving care of her
family and the wonderful staff at MCMCF.
Marge was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on September 4, 1935, a daughter
of the late Floyd and Dorothy (Bond) Palmer.
Marge was raised in Ishpeming. She worked as a waitress at Congress Bar
& Pizza for over 25 years. She enjoyed dancing, especially line dancing
with her sisters and friends. She was always on the go, whether she was
out shopping, taking car rides around the Island, or going to the movies
with her special friend Carl Voegtline. Marjorie enjoyed knitting and
traveling the world. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Wesley
Methodist Church, and she was also a Certified Home Care Specialist.
Marge is survived by a son, Steven Rice of Ishpeming. Two daughters,
Vicki (Gordon) Singer, of Ishpeming, and Paula Sanchez, of Marquette,
Grandchildren: Nathaniel, Dawn, Shawn, Hans, Stephanie, and Devin.
Great Grandchildren: Marissa, Jayla, Desiree, Braden, Kaylee, and Hans
Jr. Great Great Grandchildren: Gavin and Nolan.
A brother David (Carol) Palmer. Three sisters: Kathy West, Beverly Nelson,
and Marilyn (Ken) Argall, all of Ishpeming, along with numerous nieces and
nephews.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Doug Palmer, a
sister Virginia Koivula, sister in law Liz, and brothers-in-law Gary West and
Everett Nelson.
The family would like to thank Tami Mallet, the nursing staff, especially the
500 wing at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility for their kindness,
support and for loving Marge like she was part of their family. Also, we
would like to thank Dr, Kroll.
Due to current restrictions concerning COVID-19, a private family service
will be held in the Spring of 2021 at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
