Ishpeming – Marion B. Roberts, age 83, longtime Ishpeming resident, passed into the arms of the Lord, with her family by her side on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee where she had been a resident for nearly 2 ½ years.

Marion was born March 8, 1931 in Ishpeming the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Tippett) Peterson. Marion was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School through their Adult Education program in 1972. She was a lifelong area resident, most recently at Lost Creek in Marquette prior to her nursing home stay. She was married to the late Donald Roberts, who preceded her in death in 2009, and together they raised their two children. Marion was a member of the Good News Assembly of God Church in Ishpeming.

Survivors include a daughter Marilyn (Richard) Hill of Ishpeming; a son Donald Roberts Jr. of Marquette; 3 sisters – Marjorie Richard and Joyce Brunelle both of Marquette and Jean Fredrickson of Ishpeming; 5 grandchildren - Kristen (Jon) DeVet, Jaclyn Hill, Chelsea (Jesse) Perry, Jesse (Ashley) Roberts, Jacob Roberts, 5 great grandchildren - Isaiah, Layla, Hannah, Ryan and Aubrey along with another expected in November. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents, 4 sisters and 4 brothers.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 11am – 1pm on Friday September 19, 2014 at the Good Nesws Assembly of God Church in Ishpeming; Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm in the Good News Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Mark Broberg to officiate. A luncheon will follow the services in the church hall. Entombment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Perry, Jesse Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Jon DeVet, Richard "Tom-bo" Borlace and Jim Richard.
