Ishpeming, Michigan- Marion Louise Keto, age 88 of 309 W. Ridge St. Ishpeming, and a resident of the Mather Nursing Center for the past 2 months, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the Bell Hospital emergency room.
Marion was born on March 10, 1924 in Negaunee to Oscar & Clara (Almli) Hammar. Marion worked as a payroll clerk at J.C. Penny in Ishpeming and still enjoyed the monthly luncheons with the former employees of J.C. Penny.
Marion was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Alter Guild, served on the luncheon committees and where she enjoyed quilting with the ladies. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and her feline friend "Miranda". Marion and her husband enjoyed time spent with their grandchildren, especially at their camp they built on Lake Arfelin.
Marion is survived by her husband, Roland Keto, whom she married on July 31, 1948, 3 sons: Dennis Keto of Ishpeming, Gary (Linda) Keto of McKinney, TX and Steven (Chris) Keto of Oconomowoc, WI, 2 grandsons Dan (Jessica) Keto of Milwaukee and Brian Keto of Chicago and a step grandson Jared Sandifer of McKinney, TX. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Clarence Hammar a sister Gladys Hammar and a step son Justin Sandifer.
Marion's family will greet relatives and friends from 12:00noon-1:00pm on Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church where a memorial service will be held at 1:00pm with Rev. Kenneth Lahners officiating.
