Negaunee – Marilyn J. Howe, age 81, current resident of the Eastwood Nursing Center and longtime Diorite resident passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee.

Marilyn was born June 8, 1935 in Gwinn the daughter of Clarence and Norma (Carrier) Morin.  Marilyn grew up in the Skandia area and was a graduate of the Gwinn High School, Class of 1953.  Marilyn spent most of her married life residing in the Diorite Loc., and in recent years had resided in Negaunee.

Marilyn was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She cherished her children and grandchildren who meant the world to her.  Marilyn enjoyed knitting, crocheting and crafting along with reading and watching her favorite TV shows.

Survivors include a son Dennis (Karen) Howe of Diorite, daughter Kathy (Gary) Tresedder of Negaunee, daughter-in-law Bonnie Howe of Clarksburg Loc., 2 sisters – Sandy (John) Scifres and Barbara (Ross) Dahl both of Texas, 6 grandchildren – Lindsey Howe, Ryan (Heather) Howe, Annie (David) Martinez, Craig Howe, Garrett Tresedder and Kayleen Tresedder, 5 great grandchildren – Clayton and Millie Howe, Rosa, Sergio and Sophia Martinez.  She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Howe, Sr. and a son Edward Howe, Jr.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00am on Monday, April 24, 2017 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home, with the Rev. Fr. Dan Moll to officiate.  The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00am – 11:00am on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Lakeview Cemetery in Michigamme.
