Ishpeming- Margo R. Kari, age 53 passed peacefully away with her family at her side on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee where she been a resident for the past 8 years and was a resident at the Mather Nursing Center for 12 years.
Margo was born May 18, 1957 in Marquette to Theodore "Sam" Richards and the late Elizabeth "Bette" (Joseph) Richards. Margo graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1975 and she worked at the Mather Inn as a secretary.
Margo was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 114, was an avid pool player and a Detroit Tigers fan. Margo enjoyed water skiing in her younger years and more recently she enjoyed playing BINGO. Margo spent her last 20 years in a nursing home, but made many friends during that time.
Margo is survived by her father Theodore "Sam" (Joyce) Richards of Ishpeming, a sister, Marijane (Bruce) Laakso of Champion, 5 brothers: Harold (Karen) Richards of Ishpeming, Sam (Rae) Richards of Ishpeming, Dale (Judy) Richards of Champion, Nicholas Richards of Rifle, CO and William (Tonja) Richards of Ishpeming, step brothers Larry Dobson of Little Chute, WI and Terry (Carrie) Dobson of Howards Grove, WI, step sister Connie (Ross) Tresedder of Kingsford, along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and her extended family, Miriam Nicholls and family. Margo was preceded in death by her mother Bette Richards, a son Bryan Kari and her God Parents Eber & Edith Perucco.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 4:00PM Thursday, July 1, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming with Fr. Greg Heikkala officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives at the church on Thursday from 2:00PM until the time of service.
