Champion, MI – Margery C. Roy 1944 – 2024

In Loving Memory of a Mother, Pastor's Wife, and beautiful Angel.

Heavy hearted, a mix of sorrow and gratitude as we announce the passing of our beloved mother who battled Alzheimer's disease. A true angel on Earth, who has now entered the arms of Jesus. She peacefully departed this world and moved into eternal rest early Saturday February 3, 2024.

Margery was a woman of exceptional grace, kindness, and unwavering faith. She exemplified an unmatched gentleness that radiated from within her and touched the lives of everyone. Closely following Jesus she devoted her life to spreading God's love and loving others limitlessly.

Margery delighted in her role as a dedicated pastor's wife and Executive secretary to Rev. Earnest Zilch, Secretary-Treasurer of the Assemblies of God, Michigan District. Her nurturing presence within the church community brought spiritual comfort and hope to many, helping them find their way in the darkest of times.

It was within the walls of our home where our mother's angelic qualities truly shined. She selflessly poured into nurturing her family, fostering and adopting children, ensuring that each of us felt loved, cherished, and unconditionally supported no matter if the relationship came from her family lineage or chosen through adoption. She was tender hearted and always loyal to God and her husband.

Alzheimer's cast a long shadow over our mother's life, yet she chose Jesus up until her last moments. Her smile held the warmth of a thousand suns. As Alzheimer's slowly took hold, our mother's vibrant personality began to fade, but the essence of who she was remained deeply ingrained within her. It was in these moments that her spirit shone the brightest, as she exhibited an unwavering devotion to her Faith. She faced each challenge with Jesus even as her memories slipped away like grains of sand through her fingers.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to all the caretakers and Norlite staff, and loved ones who supported our mother throughout her Alzheimer's journey.

Deeply mourning the loss of our mother's physical presence, we find solace in knowing that she has now been released from the shackles of Alzheimer's and has returned to a place of peace and clarity with Jesus. As we bid farewell to our beautiful angel, let us honor her by coming back to Jesus. Margery has gracefully left us, but her spirit will forever shine brightly, illuminating our lives with love, faith, and her example of what it means to Fear the Lord and love God unconditionally.
