Margaret "Peggy" Jane White, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on April 15, 1936, in Marquette, Michigan, Peggy was the oldest daughter of William and Lillian (Zhulkie) Smith. Peggy married the love of her life, William "Bill" T. White in November 1956 and enjoyed 62 years of adventures until his passing in 2019. After completing secretarial school, she embarked on a long and dedicated career in the legal field, working for over 40 years before retiring in 2000. She enjoyed traveling the country with Bill following her retirement before relocating to Austin, Texas, in 2006, to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.

Peggy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Known for her kindness, grace, and warm smile, Peggy touched the lives of all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Garrett) Venus; her grandchildren, William (Tori) Venus and Meghan Venus; and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brothers, Richard (Diane) Smith and Harry (Mary) Smith; godson David Harris; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
