Ishpeming, MI - Margaret Elaine Hebein (Peg) age 95, longtime Ishpeming resident, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Mill Creek Assisted Living in Marquette, MI.

Peg was born the 6 ^th of seven children in Iron Mountain, Michigan to William and Pauline Marcou.  Peg graduated from Iron Mountain High in 1942 and soon moved to Washington DC to work for the federal government during the war years.

After the war, Peg married fellow classmate Roland "Jerry" Hebein in 1946.  After living briefly in Iron Mountain, Ishpeming, and Iron River, they returned to Ishpeming's Deer Lake Location to live and raise their three sons. Peg lived in the same house for nearly 60 years.

Peg was always an active lady enjoying bowling, horseshoes, cards, gardening, walking, and participating in a good gab session.

Peg is survived by her three sons:  David (Gail) Hebein of Champion, Michael (Susan) Hebein of Ishpeming, and Paul (Monica) Hebein of Boulder,CO. Seven grandchildren: Lindy Butler, Jill (Ryan) Ellis, Alison (Billy) Rosseau, Peter Hebein,  Bonnie (Justin) Aulakh , Abbie Hebein, and Katie Hebein.  Six great-grandchildren:  Sophie and Marcus Butler, Maggie and Sarah Ellis, and Olletta and Nell Rosseau.  Brother William (Bill) Marcou: along with numerous nieces and nephews and several longtime friends.

Peg was preceded in death by her husband Jerry in 1999, grandson Craig Hebein in 2013, and her parents and siblings:  Eleanor, Lorraine, Ruth, Pauline, and Leonard.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Mill Creek Assisted Living and UP Home Health and Hospice.

A private family memorial will be held this summer at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
