Obituary

Ishpeming- Margaret "Muggsy" DeCaire, age 93 lifelong Ishpeming resident, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 while under the loving care of her family, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where she had been a resident since 2009.

Margaret was born on August 30, 1918 in Ishpeming to Albert & Anna (Ebner) DeCaire. She graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1936. She lived in Ishpeming her entire life first in "French Town" and later 25 years at 111 Bluff St. Muggsy was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming.

Margaret is survived by three children: Fran (Judy) DeCaire of Ishpeming, Karen (Jerry) Tonkin of Arvada, CO and Sue (Doug) Perttunen of Ishpeming, seven grandchildren: Kim (Greg) Matchett of Denver, Debbie (Dan) Wertanen of Negaunee, Kurt Tonkin of St. Louis, MO, Beth (Kevin) DeLoughary of Ishpeming, Becky (Don) Harju of Ishpeming, Peggy (Shawn) Borlace of Shawano, WI and Kristen Perttunen of Ishpeming, seven great grandchildren: Cody Harju, Derek DeCaire, Hannah DeLoughary, Zachary Matchett, Dustin Wertanen, Gavin Tonkin and Gianna Matchett, a brother in law Raymond DeCaire of Detroit, two sisters in law Eileen Trombley of Detroit and Ann DeCaire of Ishpeming, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Earl "Tuner" DeCaire, four sisters: Celia Larson, Lucille Johnson, Agnes LaChapelle and Clara Stone, three brothers: Clarence DeCaire, Paul DeCaire and Clarence "Swede" Stone.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Greg Heikkala officiating.

The family will greet friends at St. John's Catholic Church on Thursday from 9:30am until the time of service at 11:00am.

A luncheon will be held in the K/D Hall immediately following the Memorial Mass.

Muggsy's family would like to thank the staff at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility for the wonderful care given to Muggsy while a resident there.
