Obituary

Ishpeming – E. Lynn Ketchem, age 79, of 640 W. Division St. Ishpeming, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at UP Health System Bell following a two-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Lynn was born in Ishpeming on November 19, 1940, a daughter of the late Lucelle (Hooper) and Walter Williams. She was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School class of 1958. She married the late Donald Ketchem on April 23, 1960 and they spent 52 wonderful years together. Lynn worked as a magistrate in the 96th district court in Ishpeming for over 30 years retiring in 1996.

Lynn had been a member of the former Salisbury United Methodist Church for many years and had been very active with the Salisbury Servers.  Currently she was a member of the Mitchell United Methodist Church in Negaunee. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities and events.  Lynn always enjoyed the special time she shared with her grandchildren.  All of her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.

Volunteering for the Bell Auxiliary kept her busy in her retirement years.  Lynn looked forward to spending summers at camp on the Dead River Basin, which the family celebrated the 40th anniversary of in 2019.

Survivors include a son, Mark (Tami) Ketchem and a daughter, Cindy (Steve) Pohlman; brother, Jack (Carole) Williams, of Ishpeming; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron (Mary) Ketchem all of Ishpeming; grandchildren - Jessica (Chris) Warner, Jake Ketchem, Nathan Pohlman, Megan Pohlman, Samantha Dymond and Zach Dymond; great grandchildren - Cydney Warner, Emilia Warner (whom affectionately referred to Lynn as "Big Mama"), Kayden Dymond along with several nieces and nephews.

Lynn was preceded in death by her husband Don in 2012 and a son Timothy in 1968.

Private family services will be held at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with Pastor DJ Thomsen to officiate. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be directed to the Bell Auxiliary, 901 Lakeshore Dr., Ishpeming, MI 49489.
