National Mine – Lydia Susan Keto, age 95, of 800 CoRd PBH in Tilden Twp. passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming.

Lydia was born on November 16, 1913 the daughter of the late John Jacob and Mary Evelyn (Maki) Mannikko in Ishpeming. Lydia was a lifelong area resident and a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a 1932 graduate of National Mine High School. She was a quilter and a member of the Ruth-Esther Cirlce at church and other circles in previous years.

Lydia is survived by five children: Ralph (Marie) Keto of Ishepming, Marlene (Claude) Kautz of Champion, Gene (Cathy) Keto of Ishpeming, John (MaryAnn) Keto of Ishpeming, and David (Brenda) Keto of National Mine, two sisters: Irma Huber of Northbrook, IL and Doris Rutter of Tuscon, AZ, along with 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Lydia was preceded in death by her husband Walter Keto in 1981, a daughter Mary Helsten, a sister Florence Sharpmack and a brother Walter Mannikko.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 2:00PM at the Faith Lutheran Church with Vicar Joy Proper to officiate. Family will greet friends and relatives from 12:00PM until the time of services at the church. Interment will take place at the Northland Chapel Cemetery in Negaunee Twp. A luncheon will follow the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Claude Kautz III, Scott Kautz, Rick Keto, John Helsten, Rodney Perreault, and Rob Pauls.
