Ishpeming – Lucelle E. Willliams, age 95, formerly of 111 Bluff St., passed away on Monday Morning at the Marquette Co. Medical Care Facility where she had been a resident for the past 3 weeks.
Lucelle was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on June 1, 1912, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Giles) Hooper. She was a 1930 graduate of Ishpeming High School and attended cosmetology school in Detroit.
Lucelle was a life long area resident and worked for 26 years as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney in Ishpeming in the Children's department. She was a member of the Salisbury United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking pasties, and spending time at camp. She also enjoyed seek and find books and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up.
Lucelle is survived by a daughter, Lynn (Don) Ketchem of Ishpeming, a son Jack (Carole) Williams of Ishpeming, 7 Grandchildren: Blake (Lynn) Williams, Jason (Debbie) Williams, Kurtis (Kristin) Williams, Sheri (Chris) Pasanen, Mark LaFave, Mark (Tami) Ketchem, Cindy (Steve) Pohlman, 16 Great Grandchildren: Katie, Ryan, Darrin, Joey, Jacob, Kennedy, Avery, Marah, LeeAnn, Luke, Jessica, Jacob, Samantha, Zach, Megan, Nathan along with several nieces and nephews. Lucelle was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 1992, 3 sisters, 1 brother, and a grandson Timothy Ketchem
A Funeral Service will be held at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming at 6:00PM on Thursday, April 24th, with Rev. Terri Branstrom officiating.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 4:00PM until the time of service at 6:00 at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow at Christ the King Lutheran Church. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lucelle's grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Salisbury United Methodist Church.
