Ishpeming - Lowell T "Duffy" Besander, Jr., age 60, of 111 Bluff St. Ishpeming, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 202 at UP Health System Marquette.

Lowell was born in Ishpeming on May 20, 1960, son of Lowell T. Besander, Sr., and the late Delores (Kowalski) Cheverette. Duffy was a graduate of the Westwood High School, Class of 1978.  He worked as a roofer for Besander Roofing for many years, along with various other jobs throughout the years.  Duffy was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, enjoyed fishing and other outdoor activities until his ill health forced him from being able to do so.  He genuinely loved his grandchildren and enjoyed being around them.

Duffy is survived by two daughters - Amanda N. (John Bennett - fiancé) Butler and Aimee Besander both of Ishpeming; his father Lowell Besander Sr. of Ishpeming; a brother Jimmie (Donna) Besander of Ishpeming; half-brother Teddy Verville of California; grandchildren - Jason and Amelia Schilling; aunts - Jean Harmala, Jayne Harvey, Laurel LaFave Rosmergy, Jill LaFave Nelson, numerous cousins, his former wife Peggy Besander, and his good friend Betty Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his mother, a grandson Jacob, and an Uncle Andrew Besander.

A memorial gathering will be held outdoors from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming. Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.
