Ishpeming – Lorraine E. Paulsen, age 85, longtime Iron River resident passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Marquette Co. Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming where she had resided for the past 16 months.

Lorraine was born November 22, 1928 in Amasa, MI, the daughter of the late Nestor and Lillian (Lahti) Hill.  She was raised in Mansfield Twp. and was a graduate of the Crystal Falls High School, Class of 1946.  She had resided in the Crystal Falls and Iron River area's for most of her adult life.  Lorraine was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her children, along with doing domestic housework for area families.

Lorraine was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Iron River where she was active with the ladies of the church.  She also volunteered at the Iron River senior center and worked in the community garden.

Survivors include 6 children – Dennis (Pat) Turner of Iron River, Linda (Bob) Hamilton and Deborah (Harry) Weinkel both of Ishpeming, Lori Hytinen of Iron Mountain, Randy Paulsen and Dale Paulsen both of Iron River, two sisters – Esther "Perpi" (Don) Hooper of Iron River and Sue Westberg of Jacksonville, NC, 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 children - Randolph Turner and Warren Paulsen, and a sister Lillian Johnson.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 1:00pmCST, in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, W. US 2, Iron River, MI with the Rev. D.J. Thomsen to officiate.   A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.
