LAKE WALES, Fla. - Loretta M. Nault, age 75, of 8503 Breeze Hill Dr, Lake Wales, Florida, passed peacefully entering eternal life Monday, January 9, 2012 in the loving care of her family.
Loretta was born in Republic, Michigan on March 12, 1936 to Theodore and Elizabeth (Vogetline) Shepeard. Loretta was a 1954 graduate of Republic Senior High School.
On February 1955, she married her high school sweetheart, Charles Edward Nault. They were happily married for forty-five years. Loretta was fortunate for be a homemaker, devoting herself to raise her seven children.
Loretta was a member for St. John Catholic Church of Ishpeming, Mi. She loved to read and enjoyed keeping up with current events and politics. Her favorite hobbies were knitting and gardening. Loretta enjoyed knitting afghan blankets for the elderly residents whom she lived with in the community and sent over 150 pair of knitted mittens to the Salvation Army for the needy. You could often find Loretta outside on a sunny Florida day gardening and landscaping her yard receiving complements from the neighbors while passing by. Each Christmas, Loretta would be the highlight of the community decorating the Palm Tree in her front yard with 30 bright red felt bow ribbons.
Loretta was a devoted Michigan State Athletics Fan. Her biggest delight would be calling her sons and rubbing in the fact that Michigan State once again beat the University of Michigan in football or basketball.
Loretta will be missed but not forgotten by her daughters, Laura Nault, Julie (William) Dunstan, Beth (Ralph) Goethe, sons Robert (Linda) Nault and Mike Nault, Ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren all of Ishpeming, Michigan. Loretta's siblings included Mercedes (Jerry) Lehto of Haines City, Florida, Elizabeth (Dave) LaPine, Francis (Susan) Shepeard of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Susan Gilbertson of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Theodore (Barbra) Shepeard of Republic, Michigan and Spalding (Tammy) Shepeard of Marine City, Michigan and Aunt Irene Voegtline of Negaunee, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Elizabeth (Voegtline) Shepeard, husband Charles Nault, and brother Anthony and sons David and Charles jr.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate Loretta's Life will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming with Fr. Greg Heikkala officiating.
The family will receive friends at St. Johns Catholic Church on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.
