Obituary

Ishpeming - Lois Ann Bengson, age 74 of 1220 N. Third St. Ishpeming, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility while under the loving care of her family and Lake Superior Hospice.

Lois was born April 21, 1937 in Footville, WI the daughter of Howard C. & Alice (Nelson) Miller. She attended school in Janesville, WI where she graduated from the Janesville High School. She went on to study art at the Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, WI, and was then employed in Milwaukee as a graphic artist. She married the late Marvin Bengson on Nov. 11, 1961 in Footville, WI and they resided in Milwaukee, WI until 1966 when they moved to Ishpeming. Lois was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, where she recently received the Golden Link Pin from the United Methodist Women.

Lois enjoyed doing various crafts and would always involve her daughter Carolyn in those activities. She also enjoyed sewing and baking. The staff at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility took Lois back to her artistic talents these past few months, an activity she truly was passionate about.

Lois is survived by her son Douglas (Julie) Bengson of Appleton, WI, two grandchildren Megan & Trevor Bengson, a sister Jean (Jay) Natrop of Mayville, WI, a brother Dan (Pat) Miller of Elgin, IL, nieces and nephews – Angela Miller, Chris (Mari) Natrop and their son Orion, Joel (Jill) Natrop and their children Nicholas and Alyssa, along with several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin Bengson in 1983 and a daughter Carolyn Ann Bengson in 2001.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Mark Ryan & Barb Tooman chaplain of Lake Superior Hospice officiating. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Wesley United Methodist Church on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. A luncheon will follow the services in the church fellowship hall.
