Ishpeming - Lloyd "Pard" J. Bess, age 69, of 1914 Deer Lake Ave Ishpeming, passed away Friday, January 9th, 2009 at his home.

Lloyd was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on May 23, 1939, to the late Joseph and Eleanor (Abbot) Bess. His father remarried the late Lucille Tremayne. Pard worked for Robbins Flooring Mill for many years before hiring on at Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company, where he retired from as grinding attendant in 2001.

Pard had a passion for grouse hunting and working with his bird dogs. He also enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and camping. His home hobbies included: feeding birds, growing roses, and was an active member of the NRA.

Lloyd is survived by a son Robert (Elaine) Bess of Ishpeming, a sister Lorelei (Richard) Dymond of Ishpeming, niece and nephew Bradley & Brenda Dymond also of Ishpeming. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Norma (Davis), this past March, his parents, and a brother Stewart.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming at 2:00PM with Rev. Al Davis officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives from 11:00AM until the time of services at the funeral home. A luncheon will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church following the services.
