Ishpeming- Linda Kulju, age 86 formerly of 111 Bluff St. Ishpeming, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the Mather Nursing Center where she been a resident since July 2010.

Linda was born January 6, 1927 in Republic to Matt & Lydia (Ahtonen) Berg. She worked at the Serepta Rest Home in Republic, as a seamstress at the H.W. Gossard Company in Ishpeming and as a housekeeper and cook in Lake Forest, IL and Lake Bluff, IL.

Linda was a skilled seamstress, very talented knitter, who also enjoyed making rugs (carpet weaving) and upholstering furniture. She had a passion for picking strawberries and blueberries. Linda loved to cook Sunday dinners for her family and when someone stopped to visit she always had a fresh pot of coffee and homemade bakery.

Linda is survived by a daughter Carol (Robert) Truckey of Ishpeming, 3 grandchildren: Wendy (Bill) Gravedoni, Patty (Kevin) Mattord, and Laura (Michael) Elliott, a daughter in law Jean (Wayne) Carlson, great grandchildren: Katie & Tony Gravedoni, Becky Mattord, Seth, Jonah, Benjamin, Joshua, Lily, and Russell Elliott, Caleb, Daniel, Luke, Aaron and Jennie Carlson, along with an aunt, cousins, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell, a son Richard, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

An Inurnment for family and friends will be held at the Humboldt Township Cemetery.
