Marinette, WI. / Ishpeming- Lillian I. Kangas age 93 lifelong Ishpeming resident, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette. Lillian has been a resident at Luther Manor Assisted Living since January 2008.

Lillian was born September 13, 1915 in Negaunee to Percy & Lillie (Hampton) Greenway. Lillian worked as a seamstress for the H.W. Gossard Company and was a member of the Gossard Retirees. Lillian was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Ishpeming.

Lillian is survived by a son Michael P. (Sandra) Kangas of Menominee, MI, 2 granddaughters: Cherie (Brian) Wirth of Neenah, WI and Michelle Kangas of Milwaukee, 2 great granddaughters Sydney & Sierra, a sister Merle Oien of Ishpeming along with nieces, nephews and cousins. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Eino, a brother Eldred Greenway and sisters: Florence and Lois Greenway and Dorothy Stenglein.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m. Monday, November 24, 2008 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Scott Lindenberg officiating. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Friends may call the Wesley United Methodist Church on Monday from 11:00a.m until the time of service at 1:00p.m.
