Ishpeming Twp.- Lillian A. Aho, age 87 of 1575 N. Westwood Circle Ishpeming passed away Monday February 15,2016 at the UP Health System Marquette.
Lillian was born May 14, 1928 in Gay, Michigan to the late Emil & Hilma (Asuinmaa) Maki. She moved from the Copper Country at the age of 12 with her family to Ishpeming where she lived ever since. Lillian worked at Seilo's Store, the H.W. Gossard Company and at the Mather Nursing Center where she worked as a cook.
Lillian was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed cooking for her family, especially for birthday celebrations and holidays. Lillian enjoyed time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Lillian is survived by her husband of 67 years, Wilhart Aho, 3 children: Patricia D. (David J.) Rodda of Marquette, Jeffrey (Mary) Aho of Ishpeming and Kimberly Sue & Jeffrey Adriano of Ishpeming, a brother Carlo Maki of Marquette, 5 grandchildren: Aaron (Amanda), Joshua, Jacob, Alex and Jordyn Adriano, a great grandchild Hayden, and one expected in July, sister in law Concetta Maki of Ishpeming, brother in law Wilho Ritola of Republic along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Eino Maki and sister Violet Ritola.
A private funeral service will be held on Friday February 19, 2016 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Memorial Fund at Bethel Lutheran Church 333 E. Ridge St. Ishpeming, MI 49849 in memory of Lillian Aho.
