Ishpeming – Leslee Jean Raisanen, age 49, of 22940 Co. Rd. 581 Tilden Twp. left us to be with the Lord on October 9, 2011 while a patient a the Marquette General Hospital.


Leslee was born April 24, 1962 in Laurium, MI, the daughter of Kenneth and Laurel (Gasperich) Ollanketo. She was a graduate of the Hancock High School. Leslee worked many restaurant and cleaning jobs in the Hancock area prior to moving to this area. While in this area she met and married Mark Raisanen on Aug, 28, 1999. Leslee had worked locally at Peggy Sue's, the Mather Nursing Center, and the Marquette Co. Medical Care Facility.


Leslee attended the Faith Lutheran Church. She was an avid Detroit Lions fan and enjoyed watching the games. She loved to go camping at Black River Falls along with fishing with Mark, and passing time by reading.


She leaves behind her husband of the past 12 years, Mark Raisanen of Ishpeming, her Mother Laurel and step-father Jack LaBelle, a daughter Layla and granddaughter Savannah of Wisconsin, her Mother-in-law Jeannette Luoma of Ishpeming, 2 sisters-in-law – Ann Poirier of Negaunee and Dawn Raisanen of O'Fallon, IL, a brother-in-law Michael Raisanen of Ishpeming, her favorite nephew Kenny Larson of Negaunee, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles including a special uncle Alan Ollanketo. She was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Ollanketo and a sister Lorilee Larson.


The family will greet relatives and friends from 2 until 4pm on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4:00pm on Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Johnson officiating.


Leslee will be so very much missed by her family and friends, but remember, "Just when the caterpillar thought that the world was over she became a butterfly."
