Ishpeming – Leonard J. LeSage, age 36 of 320 E. North St., Ishpeming and former Daytona Beach, FL resident passed away on Sunday August 24, 2008 at the Marquette General Hospital due to medical complications from diabetes.


Leonard was born June 22, 1972 in Arlington Heights, Illinois, the son of Peter F. and the late Geraldine R. (Coduti) LeSage. He graduated from Hoffman Estates High School near Chicago, Illinois in 1990. Leonard enjoyed skateboarding, skiing, snowmobiling and the great outdoors. He also enjoyed good food, music and friends. Leonard had recently moved back to Ishpeming from Florida where he had resided for the past four years.


Survivors include Leonard's father - Peter LeSage of Ishpeming, a brother: Roy (Jan) LeSage and sister: Cindy (fiancé Doug Crawford) LeSage, nephew: Jamie Crawford, all of Daytona Beach, FL, grandfather Roy (Betty) Conduti of Ishpeming, aunts and uncles: Jerry (Donna) LeSage, Alan (Sue Carello) LeSage, Marilyn (Bob) Koski, Tony and Scott Coduti, Olle Matheson, and Delores Bessander, several cousins and friends, including – Julie Vertanen, Monica (Maxfield) Kerchinsky, Steve and Marsha Nardi and their daughter Chelsea, Paul Kari and Gail Aho. Leonard was preceded in death by his mother Geraldine.


The family will greet relatives and friends from 5:00pm until 6:00pm on Thursday August 28, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming, where a memorial service will be held at 6:00pm with the Rev. Fr. James Challancin to officiate. Inurnment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
