Ishpeming – Leona P. Lauer, age 80 of 435 Stoneville Rd. Ishpeming passed away on Thursday April 21, 2011 at the Mather Nursing Center where she had resided since 2005.


Leona was born August 22, 1930 in L'Anse the daughter of Henry and Myra (Dakota) Morrow. She grew up in Baraga and Cedarville, and had resided in Ishpeming for the past several years.


Leona was a loving wife and mother and is survived by 4 daughters – Linda (Bill) Ross-Delph of Ontonagon, Debra Paulson of Ishpeming, Nola Carello, of Marquette, and Sheila Nelson of Ishpeming, 2 sons – Gust Henry Maki of Newberry and Brian Lauer of Texas, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Gene Maki and a sister Eleanor Spence.


A private family service was held at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
