Champion Twp., MI - Lee Alan "Chick" Tonge, age 62, of 1639 Co. Rd. AO Champion, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at his home.

Lee was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on November 28, 1958, a son of the late Gloria Mildred (Hebert) and William Leslie Tonge.

He was in the first graduating class at Westwood High School, class of 1976.

Chick worked for Oberstar as a truck driver for many years retired in 2019, for health reasons.  Over the years Chick owned and operated many other businesses.   He was a handyman, who could do about anything he set his mind to.  He enjoyed playing the guitar.  Chick was a member of the Champion Township Volunteer Fire Department 30 years. He cherished time spent with Nathan and Carter.  He will be sadly missed by his canine companion "Charlie".

Chick is survived by his wife Dana S. (Brazeau) Tonge, whom he married on February 12, 1992, 3 children; Daniel (Heather) Tonge, Kristie (Jonathan) Carpenter and Katie (fiancé Tyler Martinac) Tonge, stepchildren; Deanna (Matt) LaCosse, Debbi (Marc) Marizzaldi, Derek (Lisa) Frisk, 9 grandchildren: Nathan and Carter LaCosse, Lyla and Claire Marizzaldi, Elaine Frisk, Josh and Ben Carpenter, Aria and Hayden Martinac, 4 brothers; Larry (Claudia) Tonge, Dennis (Lisa) Tonge, Lonnie Tonge and Jack (Debbie) Tonge, mother in law Barbara Rovedo, along with nieces, nephews and many close friends and co-workers.

Chick was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Gloria Tonge, a brother Bill Tonge Jr., and a nephew Erik Kinnunen.

A public visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, those attending the visitation must adhere to the wearing of masks and social distancing while at the funeral home.
