Marquette - Lee LaForge age 44 of 1008 Champion Street, Marquette passed away quietly in his sleep Friday June 3,2016.

Lee was born in Ishpeming, MI June 21,1971 to the late Paul and Alice (Frustaglio) LaForge of Republic, MI. Lee grew up in Republic and graduated from Republic-Michigamme High School in 1989. He then attended Northern Michigan University graduating with a Master of Science degree in 1997. Lee worked as manager of Book World in Marquette, as a tutor for Rise Above Tutoring and as an adjunct professor at NMU.

Lee loved the arts and was active in the local community performing and directing. He loved spending time at camp kayaking with friends and family or just hanging out enjoying nature.

Lee is survived by a brother Joe (Peggy) LaForge of Ishpeming, very special sisters – Debbie (Dale) Pagel of Sturgeon Bay, WI and Donna (Pat) Gransinger, nephews Joe (Rachel) LaForge, Mike Laxo, Jacob Gransinger and Noah Gransinger, nieces Kris (Larry) Sawdo and Chera LaForge, special friend Pat Barrus, his extended family, the Marquette area arts community, and numerous friends and loved ones.

Per his wishes there will be no services. He would most certainly be happy if you raised a glass, attended a cultural event or sang a song in your head or even out loud in his memory.
