Ishpeming Twp,- Lee Guizzetti, age 69 Ishpeming Twp resident went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday August 22, 2015.
Lee was born January 21, 1946 in Ishpeming to the late Armondo & Hope (Zeeman) Guizzetti. Lee graduated from Negaunee High School, class of 1964 and received his bachelors degree from Northern Michigan University.
Lee worked in various career fields: working as a miner at the Mather B & Republic Mines as well as working at the Lab at the Empire Mine. He also taught government for the Ishpeming School District at the Ishpeming High School. From 1978 until 2014 he was self employed as an insurance agent for Central Insurance Agency.
During his working career Lee was active in many groups, organizations and served on many boards. Some of the boards he served on included the Marq-Tran, Ishpeming Salvation Army and Marquette County Central Dispatch. He was past president of the Negaunee Historical Society and served on the Ishpeming City Council for many years. Lee also served as President of A.C.E. He was a member of the Good News Assembly of God Church in Ishpeming.
Lee is survived by 4 children: Tina Guizzetti of Cathedral City, CA, David (Katie) Guizzetti of Harvey, Laura (Gary) Sovey of Harvey and Jerry (Michelle) Martin of Escondido, CA, his fiancee Diane Nichols of Aurora, WI, a sister Darleen (Ray) Eliason of Ishpeming, a brother Anthony "Sonny" (Susan) Guizzetti of Negaunee, 4 grandchildren: Faith, Anthony and Charlie Guizzetti and Grant Sovey, 4 nieces: Tonilee (Kurt) Cullison, Hope (Tom) Carlson, Mari Guizzetti and Marlo (Chad) Manley. 3 great nieces: Bethany Carlin, Ashley Cullison & Malia Manley, 4 great nephews: Luke Carlson, Andrew Cullison, Brody Manley and Brayden Manley
A Memorial Service for Lee will be celebrated at 5:00PM on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Good News Assembly of God Church in Ishpeming with Pastor John Roy officiating. Lee's family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday at the Good News Assembly of God Church from 3:00 until the time of service at 5:00pm.
A luncheon will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.
