Marquette- Lawrence P. Bazinette, age 82 of 222 S. Fifth St. #410 Marquette and former North Lake resident passed away Wednesday March 29, 2017 at Norlite Nursing Center.

Lawrence was born November 15, 1934 in Marquette to John & Esther (Nelson) Bazinette. Lawrence served briefly in the US. Army. He was a heavy equipment operator for the teamsters union for 28 years and after retirement worked as a groundskeeper at the Marquette Golf & Country Club for 18 years.

Lawrence was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming, he enjoyed playing cribbage and played in the Ishpeming Cribbage League for many years. He also enjoyed hunting: deer and rabbits and was known for being a master gardener and his tomato plants. Lawrence listened to old country music, was a practical joke teller and liked to dance. He enjoyed the company of his dog and will be missed by "Doc".

Lawrence is survived by his wife Rita (Comensoli) Bazinette, whom he married on September 25, 1971, 7 children: Tim (Vicki) Bazinette of Marquette, Laurie (Richard Koski) Seelen of Ishpeming, Marsha (Bob) Rivord of Ishpeming, Roberta (Gary) LaFreniere of Ishpeming, John (Anita) Jonas of Marquette, Anita (Brian) Ulrickson of Ishpeming, Jacqueline (Steven) Warner of Myakka City, FL, a sister Lucille Koski of Marquette, 15 grandchildren: Toby, Mike, Chris, Tonya, Crystal, Jocelyn, Jolene, Justin, Briana, April, Emily, Nick, Meghan, Cole, and Ashley, 13 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Violet Brunette, a brother Vigil Bazinette along with 14 other brothers and sisters.

Lawrence's family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00-4:00 pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming where funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm with Fr. Dan Moll officiating. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Marquette.

A potluck luncheon will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church Hall following the service.

Pallbearers will be Toby, Mike & Chris Rivord, Justin Jonas, Nick Bazinette and Duane Koski.
