Ishpeming- Larry Dean Roberts, age 58 of 207 Zoberlein St. Ishpeming, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 at his home while in the loving care of his family and Lake Superior Hospice.

Larry was born June 26, 1958 in Ishpeming to the late Melvin Lowell Roberts and Violet Marie (Ruohomaki) Lupton. He graduated from Ishpeming High School class of 1976 and received a bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University in 1987. Larry worked for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company (Cliffs Natural Resources) for 30 years, retiring in 2012 from the Empire Mine as a concentrater plant attendant.

Larry was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church and the U.P. Scale Modelers Club. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed gardening and taking walks. Larry was all about family, he was a loving husband, a wonderful father and a proud grandpa.

Larry is survived by his wife Elizabeth "Liz", "Lisa" (Gervasi) Roberts, whom he married on December 9, 1978, 2 children: Ralph (Amber) Roberts and Bethany (Peter) Martell, 2 sisters Judy Steede and Carol Roberts, 5 grandchildren: Ethan, Brandt and Isabella Martell, Olivia and Blake Roberts, nieces and nephews: Tina, Jeffrey, Cathy, Jennifer, Christina, Jim, Tony, Nicolette, Bianca, Lucas, Nate, Amber, Adam and special niece and nephew, who he considered his own grandchildren: Samantha and Christopher Steele, many great nieces and great nephews including Alyssa- his God Daughter, mother in law: Catherine Gervasi, brothers in law: Dominic (Mary) Gervasi and Bruno Gervasi, sisters in law: Cathy (Rolfe) Lindberg, Mary Epperson and Ellen Roberts. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Lowell Roberts and Violet Lupton, his Step father; John Lupton and his brother Kenny Roberts.

Larry's family will greet relatives and friends from 4:00-6:00 PM on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Bethel Lutheran Church where funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.

Pallbearers will be Peter Martell, Jeffrey Steede, Dave Erickson, Mark Dryer

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the U.P. Scale Modelers Club.
