Krista Rae (Knutson) Wealton, 54, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Krista was born on August 30, 1971, in Ishpeming, Michigan, to Earl and Donna Knutson.
Krista was known for her kindness, strength, and compassion. Her faith in Jesus Christ was an important part of her life, guiding her actions and giving her strength, comfort, and peace. Above all, Krista believed her most important role in life was being a mother. She cherished her sons deeply and took great pride in raising them, finding her greatest joy in their lives and the time they spent together. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and encouragement to all who knew her.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Krista dedicated 21 years of honorable service to her country, exemplifying commitment, integrity, and strength throughout her military career. During her time in the Air Force, she formed lifelong bonds and left a lasting impact on those who served beside her. Her years of service reflected not only her love of country, but also her resilience, leadership, and unwavering dedication.
She is survived by her sons, Ben and Caleb Wealton, parents Earl and Donna Knutson, Sister Heidi (Bill) Dani, brother Blane (Kay) Knutson, brother Shawn Knutson, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved younger brother, Craig Knutson.
A Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church, 450 W. Ohio St, Marquette, MI on June 6th, 2026 with visitation starting at 10:00 am, followed by Service at 12:00pm and Reception to follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Marquette Care Clinic, 1213 N 3rd St, Marquette, MI 49855, in Krista’s memory.
Krista’s legacy of service, faith, love, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
