Ishpeming- Kenneth J. Racine, age 68, lifelong Ishpeming resident, passed away at his home on Thursday July 30, 2026.

Kenny Joe was born in Ishpeming on September 5, 1957, son of the late Kenneth G. and Patricia (Polkki) Racine. He attended Ishpeming High School and graduated with the class of 1975. Kenny Joe then went on to study at Northern Michigan University where he earned his bachelor's degree in conservation. Kenny Joe worked a few different jobs after graduating before he entered his career as an electrician with Cliffs where he worked until his retirement in 2018.

Kenny Joe loved his beagles and was very decorated as a beagler, winning many awards and having many dogs that made it to field champion status. He travelled the country as a judge for beagle trials and was a member of the Ishpeming beagle club for most of his life. His biggest achievement was being inducted into the National beagling hall of fame. He also enjoyed deer hunting and watching his nieces and nephews participate in their sports, and rarely missed an episode of the price is right.

Kenny Joe is survived by his 3 siblings: Jerry (Peggy) Racine, Munna (Cooky) Racine, Debbie (Scott) Sullivan, nieces and nephews: Erik, Jaime (Garrett), Michael (Nikki), Andy (Abbie), Katie (Curt), Bradley, Birket, Adam, Amy, along with many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Following Kenny Joe’s wishes, cremation will take place with private family services. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.
