Ishpeming- Kenneth P. Martin, age 78, of Ishpeming, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where he had been a patient for five days.

Kenneth was born on January 25, 1943 in Ishpeming, son of the late David and Helen (Kotajarvi) Martin. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1961. On April 4, 1964, he married Judith Brown in Ishpeming. In 1965 "KP" began working with CCI at the Republic Mine and retired in 2003 as an electrician at the Tilden Mine.

Kenneth enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time at camp on Little Perch Lake and visiting Rose and Rollie Swanson of Palmer. A highlight of every year was the Martin family reunion at Folly Beach, SC, sitting on the deck trading stories of days past with his brother, Reuben, playing horseshoes, or deciding if it was a good day to go in the water.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife- Judith of Ishpeming, son- Kevin (Francie) Martin of Kingsford, daughters- Linda (Bradley) Miller of Lino Lakes, MN, Lora Martin of White Bear Lake, MN, 4 granddaughters- Kaitlin and Kimberly Martin, Amanda and Rebecca Miller, 2 sisters-in-law- Catherine Martin of Charleston, SC, Marilyn Emanuelson of Ishpeming, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Reuben Martin, sisters and brothers-in-law- Rosemary and Roland Swanson, and Donna and William Hodge.

The family wishes to thank the Marquette County Medical Care Facility, UP Health System Bell and EMS for their kind and compassionate care. A special thank you to Todd Miller, Tierra Booth and their families, along with Bonnie Renfors, for their generous help during the past several years.

Private family graveside services will be held at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Kenneth.
