Ishpeming- Kenneth A. Lavacque age 92 of 145 N. Marigold St. in Ishpeming Township, passed away on Saturday April 29, 2017.

Kenneth was born October 8, 1925 in Caspian, MI to the late Joseph and Catherine (Zeni) Lavacque. Ken was a graduate of the Stambaugh High School class of 1943. Immediately following graduation at the age of 17 Ken got permission from his parents and enlisted in the United States Navy in the fall of 1943. Ken served until his honorable discharge in May of 1946. Following his discharge he married Jacqueline A. Franzene on October 2, 1946 in Iron River, MI. Kenneth worked at Trent Tube for over 28 years. He and his family have resided in Ishpeming for 25 years.

Kenneth was a member of the Ishpeming VFW Post 4573. He enjoyed gardening and carpentry work always keeping himself busy, and in his younger years Ken was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Kenneth is survived by his 2 children- Patricia (Alonzo) Feldbauer, Larry Lavacque, a sister-in-law- Betty (Harry) Smith, 2 brothers- Robert (Donna) Lavacque of Amasa, Marvin (Sue) Lavacque of Phoenix, AZ, a sister- Beverly Przybylski of St. Petersburg, FL, grandchildren- Pamella (Don Thomas) St. Aubin, Tamara (Richard) Kangas, David Lavacque, Kaelyn Lavacque, great grandchildren- Mary (Wade) Martin, Alissa Stanaway, great great grandchildren- Summer Holm, Cameryn Martin, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Jacqueline.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 5:00 pm until 5:30 pm on Wednesday May 3, 2017 at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home. A family remembrance period will start at 5:30 and will be followed by military honors accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #380. Interment will take place on Saturday May 6, 2017 at the Bates Township Cemetery.
