Ishpeming – M. Kay Anderson, age 66 of 106 W. Euclid St. Ishpeming passed away on Monday February 5, 2007 at the Marquette General Hospital following complications from surgery. She had been a patient for the past 6 days at Marquette General Hospital.
Kay was born February 24, 1940 in Ishpeming the daughter of Margueritte (Harvey) and the late Arvid Thibodeau. She was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1958 and attended Northern Michigan University for two years. Kay married Neil Anderson on February 6th, 1960 in Ishpeming and she would have been celebrating her 47th wedding anniversary today.
Kay was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she had been an instructor with the C.C.D. program. She was an avid reader and loved to travel, especially abroad, with her favorite destination being Cornwall, England. She enjoyed time with her family, with grandchildren holding a special place in her heart. Her pet dog "Cookie" will surely miss Kay's company.
Survivors include her husband Neil W. Anderson of Ishpeming; her mother – Margueritte Thibodeau of Ishpeming; 2 sons – Neil (Beth) Anderson of Green Bay, WI and Gregg (Roxanna) Anderson of Ishpeming; a daughter Lori (Todd) Neale of Dallas, TX and a very special daughter Kay Ellen Anderson residing at Cedar Hills in Ishpeming; 5 grandchildren – Neil, Brandon and Zack Anderson & Michael and McKenna Neale; a sister Judy (Bill) Frailing of Ishpeming; a brother – Arvid Thibodeau Jr. and his fiancée Julie of Ishpeming; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Arvid Thibodeau.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Peter Oberto & Rev. Fr. James Challancin to con-celebrate the mass. The family will greet friends from 9:00am until the time of services on Wednesday at the church, with a luncheon to follow the services in the church hall.
