Ishpeming - Kathleen Marie Cork, age 58, of 608 N. Lake St. Ishpeming, passed away on Thursday May 5, 2016 at her home, while in the loving care of her family and UP Home Health and Hospice.

Kathy was born February 16, 1958 in Appleton, WI to Jackie and Sharon (Mayotte) Vial Sr. Kathy was raised in a military family and moved to many areas, having graduated from Sault Ste Marie High School, class of 1976. While raising her family, she was also part of a military family and resided in many areas prior to coming to Ishpeming in 1992. Kathy worked in the finance field, spending 10 years at the Ishpeming Community Federal Credit Union (TruNorth), and 12 years at Range Bank where she served mainly as a teller, amongst her many roles throughout her employment. Kathy retired on August 14, 2015 due to her health.

Kathy enjoyed going to the movies, and most of all spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by 2 children: Heather (Jeremy) Thompson of Ishpeming, and Jason (Sharone Hall) Cork of Green Bay, WI, mother: Sharon Vial of Menasha, WI, sister: Julie (Kevin) Skogman of Kaukauna, WI, 4 brothers: Thomas Vial of Kaukauna, WI, Jack (Michele) Vial Jr. of Green Bay, WI, Michael (Shelly) Vial of Menasha, WI, and Timothy (Gretchen) Vial of South Berwick, ME, 6 grandchildren: Lindsey, Hailly, Brandt, Rayna, Quinton, and Madison along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kathy was preceded in death by her father Jackie J. Vial Sr. and her brother Lonnie Vial.

Kathy's family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 4:00 – 5:30 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home where a celebration of life will be held following the visitation.

Kathy's family wishes to say a special thank you to Kelly Jarvi for all of her help and care of Kathy during her illness.
