Ishpeming, MI- Kathryn "Pat" Patricia Hallum, age 90, Ishpeming resident passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at UP Health System Marquette.

Pat was born in Duluth, MN on February 6, 1935, a daughter of the late Kathryn Elizabeth Sowers and Leo Matthew Shykes.

Pat attended St. Jean's School in Duluth, MN and graduated in 1953.  Pat worked in HR/Payroll at Bell Memorial Hospital for 27 years retiring in 1998. Pat was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming.

Upon retirement, Pat volunteered with the "Caring Hearts" program and also in the gift shop at Baylor Hospital.  She kept herself busy with her hobbies include basket weaving, quilting, and crocheting.  Pat was extremely proud of her family and loved to brag about all of them.  She especially treasured her grandchildren and embraced every moment with her family.

Pat is survived by her children: Gregory (Jane) Hallum, Bradley (Diana) Hallum, Kristin (George) Rabenold and Kurt Hallum; a sister Marge Kniep, two brothers: Steven (Linda) Shykes and Vince Shykes; grandchildren: Jaimee (Chad) Dobson, Jenny (Ron Mortti) Knight, Emily (Josh) Nault, Elyssa (Adam) Gregurash, Eryn (Chris Knight) Baldini, Amanda (Kyle) Kozak, Jaime (Chace) Galloway, Jeremy (Erica) Hallum, Brad (Melanie) Hallum Jr, Daniel (Sherry) Hallum, Bryan Giotto, Tina (Shawn) Helsten, Joey Giotto, Jessica Laymance, Eric (Chelsea) Saari, McKenzie Rabenold, Pam Carter; great grandchildren: Orion, Lizzy, Hunter, Morgan, Avery, Carsen, Jaxson, Addy, Kaden, Danslie, Bannock, Dakota, Sierrah, Alexis, Mason, Brooklynn, Bradley III, Justice, Alexander, Abigale, Jana, Morgan, Tristen, Landon, Aubrey, Chase, Lilah, Kalli, Carter, Miah, Breanne, Dakota, Devyn, Madison, Hailey, Patrick and Penelope; great great grandchildren: Elden, Eleanor and Emmett; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends Jan and Judy Laurila.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband Harland Hallum, parents Leo and Kathryn Shykes, sisters Agnes Patnaude and Lois Schwarzkopf, brother Vernon Shykes, and grandsons Patrick and Jedd Hallum.

Pat's family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 am – 11:00 am on Monday, April 21, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with Fr. Christian Flagstadt to officiate.

A luncheon will follow at K/D Hall.
