Michigamme, MI- Kathleen J. Swiedals, age 83, lifelong Michigamme resident, passed away on August 26, 2022, at UP Health System-Marquette, with her loving husband at her side. She died from complications following a heart attack.

Kathleen was born in Denmark, Wisconsin on April 25, 1939, a daughter of the late Alphonse and Martha (Aho) Clement. Kathleen was a graduate of the Champion High School, Class of 1957. Kathleen was united in marriage to Joseph Swiedals on February 21, 1959. Together they raised their two sons. She worked for the NICE Community School District as a bus driver and kitchen aide for 24 years.

Kathleen was a member of the Woodland United Methodist Church, Michigamme Museum Historical Society, and the Michigamme Senior Center. In her earlier years she enjoyed camping, swimming, snowmobiling, and attending car shows. She also enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and social events.

Kathleen is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph, her sons Rod (Sandy) Swiedals of Michigamme and Dan (Lisa) Swiedals of Michigamme. She is also survived by a granddaughter Danielle (Dylan) Mattson, grandson Kyle Swiedals, great grandson Beau Mattson and sister-in-law Kathy Vogel.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law Joseph and Josephine Swiedals and brother Kenneth Clement.

Honoring Kathleen's wishes, no public service will take place.
